DO I NEED A REFERRAL?
Yes. A referral from your GP or specialist is required, both for Medicare claiming purposes and so that all practitioners involved in your care are kept up to date with your history. Referrals need to be renewed annually OR if there is a new problem e.g. a new gynaecological problem in a previous obstetric patient. Commencing a new pregnancy requires a current referral for Medicare claiming purposes.
The rooms are open from 0800 to 1700 on weekdays, during which Glenda, Shery or Lisa will take all inquiries, make appointments and answer your questions.
As a private practitioner, there are fees for attending your appointments.
If you are unable to attend your appointment, please call our rooms to cancel at your earliest convenience. Fees may apply for any cancellations with less than 24 hours notice.
There is secure parking available at St Vincent’s Private ( via Fitzroy Lane) and a large amount of metered parking is available in surrounding streets. Conveniently, trams and buses run past the front door and Parliament station pleasant 5 minute walk from the hospital.
For gynaecological surgery, Dr England operates at
- St Vincent’s Private Hospital
- Epworth Day Procedure Centre at Freemasons
WHAT DO I BRING TO MY FIRST APPOINTMENT?
Please bring your doctor’s referral, Medicare card and Health Insurance details. If you have past x-rays, films or blood results, or letters from other specialists please bring these along.
WHO SHOULD COME TO MY APPOINTMENTS WITH ME?
Partners and children are welcome at all your visits. However, when attending the detailed 12 and 20 weeks ultrasounds during pregnancy, small children can be distracting for the scanning doctor and babysitting arrangements should be considered.
I’d like to receive your new patient information booklet.
